The story
Marianne is an entrepreneur, award-winning writer, speaker and the Founder and CEO of Knowlabel. She works between London, UK and Hi-tech park, Shenzhen, China.
Calling herself an impact entrepreneur, Marianne is on a mission to give everyone equal access to information about their impact on people and the planet, starting with the global fashion industry. She is motivated by our urgent need to address climate change and improve working conditions in supply chains.
Knowlabel is the data platform for brands, factories and workers. Our combination of hardware & software allows us to measure factory happiness and sustainability in real- time.
She has raised angel investment, government grants and VC support in order to launch her business in China, UK and Hong Kong.
With an in-depth understanding of corporate sustainability, supply chains, garment workers and consumer engagement: Marianne brings a holistic understanding to responsible business.

Marianne started her first business age 18 whilst studying in London, and has since been on a path to creating change that's taken her around the world.
Her focus on sustainable fashion began when she lived in Hong Kong as an exchange student. She became aware of the urgent need to engage her generation with climate change, and the huge impact of fashion as the world's second most polluting industry.
She went on to launch the Knowlabel solution in India and raised investment in London. She deep dived into technology and the business whilst a fellow of the New Entrepreneurs Foundation.
In 2017 she relocated to China to take her business to the next level.
Marianne's global movements in entrepreneurship have gained her recognition, being named an 'Entrepreneur to Watch' by StartUps UK and a 'Visionary Young Leader' by Real Leaders Magazine USA.

Marianne is an award winning writer, followed by readers for her insights on sustainable fashion, climate change and ethics in supply chains.
From what started as a blog, in a classic 'I started it from my sofa' style, Marianne was soon calling herself an 'accidental journalist'.
She was awarded the 'Fabric of Change' blogger award at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2016, and has interviewed leaders in the field including Suzy Menkes, International Director of Vogue, as published in i-D Magazine.
Marianne also writes for Huffington Post, Virgin, Sustainable brands and others.
